Ilana and Steven's Wedding Film - Santorini, Greece
Santorini, one of the Cyclades Islands in the Aegean Sea, was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century B.C., forever shaping its rugged landscape and villages. The whitewashed, cubist houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater) some believe to be the lost City of Atlantis! Cliff's overlook the clear Aegean Sea and beaches made up of black, red and white lava pebbles.
Ilana and Steven married on a bright sunny day, the wind whistling through the abundant olive groves. A hundred or so guests sheltered under the cooling stone brick archways out of the blistering heat until the ceremony began.
One of the reasons wedding videographers struggle to produce good films on the Greek islands like Santorini is that the sun is so hot it bounces light against the whitewashed architecture intensely but as regulars we have adapted ways that allow us to capture every moment for brides and grooms.
Santorini has such a wonderful atmosphere and ambiance, very little decoration is required as nature provides a backdrop that cannot be equaled. Most of the couples we work with completely agree and opt for very simple table settings of pastels and creams while colourful balloons decorate the tiny terraces and add a bold strike as a contrast.
